Pistol-grip or angle tool?
Choose the design according to the workstation and access to the joint. The BSTP series offers pistol-grip tools from 0.8 to 12 N·m. All current models use a 1/4 Hex adapter, so they are meant mainly for work with bits.
If access along the screw axis is difficult, or you need more than 12 Nm, an angle design is more practical. The BSTA series currently covers 3 to 90 N·m, with variants for different working ends.

BSTP or BSTA - which series should you choose?
Both series tighten joints under controlled torque but differ in design, torque range and screw access:

1/4 Hex and 3/8" and 1/2" square drives, depending on the model |

Best access conditions |
Tool can be aligned with the joint axis and there is room for a pistol grip |
Space around the joint is limited and an angle head is more convenient |

Choice of accessories |
Primarily 1/4 Hex bits |
Bits or sockets, depending on the variant |

When it is worth choosing |
Lower torques and comfortable pistol-grip work |
Higher torques or joints easier to reach with an angle tool |
If both ranges cover the required torque, let access to the joint and the type of accessories decide.
Match the torque range to the joint being made
The required torque must fall within the model's working range. BSTP pistol-grip tools cover 0.8-3, 1-6, 1.5-9 and 2-12 N·m, while BSTA angle tools go up to 90 N·m.
If one workstation handles several types of joints, check all the required values to see whether one model is enough or you need tools with different ranges.
Hex or square drive?
The working end should match the accessories used at your workstation. BSTP tools use a 1/4 Hex adapter. The BSTA series includes 1/4 Hex models as well as versions with a 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" square drive.
For bits, look for the Hex variant; for sockets, choose the right square drive size. This is worth checking before purchase, especially if your plant already has a standard for sockets and equipment.
Working speed and tightening control
Models differ in rotational speed, which matters most for large numbers of repetitive joints where cycle time affects overall efficiency.
DOGA BSTA and BSTP tools use a shut-off clutch mechanism and can work with the SP-18V-V2 controller, which sets the working speed for different types of joints. Signalling tells the operator, among other things, the result of the cycle and the battery status.
So besides the required torque, consider the expected working pace and how the process will be controlled.
Batteries and charger for BSTA and BSTP
BSTA and BSTP tools run on lithium-ion batteries. Complete sets come as standard with two 5.0 Ah batteries and a charger. The category also offers 2.5 Ah and 5 Ah batteries separately, plus a dedicated charger for both series.
A spare battery is useful for continuous or multi-shift work, so the tool stays available while the other battery charges.
Torque control and periodic calibration
Torque in BSTA and BSTP tools is adjusted with a torque tool tester, which lets you check the actual value and reduces the risk of the operator changing the settings by accident.
For checking tools yourself, we offer torque tool testers. For periodic checks or adjustment, we provide service and calibration of torque tools. For powered tools, set the inspection frequency according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
